Here are the common steps on how to Whitelist an Email Address but first we need to know what is it.

What is Whitelist?

As defined in Wikipedia.org “A whitelist or approved list is a list or register of entities that, for one reason or another, are being provided a particular privilege, service, mobility, access or recognition. As a verb, to whitelist can mean to authorize access or grant membership.”

An e-mail whitelist is a list of contacts that the user deems are acceptable to receive email from and should not be sent to the trash folder.

Spam filters that come with e-mail clients have both whitelists and blacklists of senders and keywords to look for in e-mails. If a spam filter keeps a whitelist, mail from the listed e-mail addresses, domains, and/or IP address will always be allowed.

Why whitelist an Email?

You don’t need to whitelist all email addresses you see but if you are expecting for an email from a specific person or a newsletter information then you need to do whitelist the senders email or domain.

Many email service providers and internet service providers have SPAM filters to keep out the unsolicited email. Due to the volume of users we have, PrimeMarketers.com sends a lot of email. This occasionally causes email service providers to interpret our emails as SPAM.

To make sure that you can receive our email, you can “whitelist” email from PrimeMarketers.com. Whitelisting means that you set up your email software to accept incoming email from a specific email address or domain, overriding your mail service provider’s SPAM filter.

PrimeMarketers.com uses several email addresses for communication with users. Therefore, the most effective way to make sure that you receive our email is to whitelist the entire domain. Depending on the exact email service or program you are using, whitelisting a domain may be done by entering something like one of the following:

PrimeMarketers.com
@primemarketers.com
*primemarketers.com

In the event that your email service or program cannot whitelist entire domains, we would suggest you add these individual addresses to your whitelist:

admin@primemarketers.com
info@primemarketers.com
noreply@primemarketers.com
support@primemarketers.com

Since every email system is different we have included whitelisting instructions for a few popular email service providers below.

AOL

AOL (version 9.0 or higher)

In AOL, you can add the PrimeMarketers address to the “People I Know” list. To add the address,

  1. Copy the “from” address from the latest PrimeMarketers mail. (or you can copy the addresses listed above).
  2. Select the Mail menu and select Address Book.
  3. In the pop up box, select Add.
  4. Paste the copied address/type the address required in the Other email field.
  5. Make the newly added address the “Primary email address” by checking the checkbox.
  6. Select Save.

AOL (version 7.0 or 8.0)

  1. Select Mail in the Menu on the top of the screen.
  2. Select Mail Controls.
  3. The Mail Control Screen would be displayed. Select Next.
  4. Select Customize Mail Controls for this Screen Name and click Next.

Version 8.0

  1. You can select “Allow email from all AOL members, email addresses and domains” (allows all emails).
  2. Select Next until the Save button shows up at the bottom.
  3. Select Save.

Version 7.0

In the exclusion and inclusion parameters, include the domain PrimeMarketers.com.

Yahoo

You can ask Yahoo to filter mails from PrimeMarketers to your inbox.

  1. Open Yahoo mailbox.
  2. Select Mail Options.
  3. Select Filters.
  4. Click Add Filter.
  5. In the top row, labeled From Header, select contains from the pull down menu. Enter the PrimeMarketers address in the text box next to the pull down menu. (you can either give a specific PrimeMarketers email address or use @PrimeMarketers.com or *PrimeMarketers.com to whitelist the domain).
  6. Move down to the bottom where there is the option Move the message to. Select inbox from the pull down menu.
  7. Select Add Filter button once again.

Hotmail

To whitelist us in Hotmail, you can add our email address to your Safe List. For that,

  1. Access your Hotmail mailbox.
  2. Select Options from the top right (next to Help).
  3. Select Junk e-Mail Protection (the first link).
  4. Select Safe List.
  5. In the space provided, enter the PrimeMarketers address (you can either enter a specific email address or use *PrimeMarketers.com or @PrimeMarketers.com to whitelist the domain).
  6. Select Add.
  7. Ensure the safe list box has the address you entered, and select Ok.

You can also add the PrimeMarketers email address to your contact list:

  1. Open the most recent email from us.
  2. Select the Save Address button (to the right in the line of options above the email).
  3. Click Ok.

Gmail

To ensure that you receive PrimeMarketers mails in your inbox, you can add the PrimeMarketers address to your contact list. And, If one of our mails has been moved to the spam folder, you can mark them Not Spam, to whitelist it.

  1. Open the latest issue of the e-mail you want to whitelist.
  2. There would be a few drop down options just after the date on the right hand side.
  3. Select Add sender to contact list.

Alternatively,

  1. Select contacts from the options on the left side of the Gmail Inbox.
  2. Select Create Contact on the top menu.
  3. Enter the PrimeMarketers address in the primary email box.
  4. Select Save.

If one of our mails has been by mistake moved to the spam folder, you can prevent it happening by:

  1. Selecting the Spam link – to open the spam folder.
  2. Open the wrongly filtered PrimeMarketers mail.
  3. Select the Not Spam button at the top of the email (right next to the delete forever).

MSN

In MSN, to whitelist our mails, you can add our mail addresses to your Safe List. This is how you do that:

  1. Select Settings: Email | Junk e-mail (bottom left, just above Calendar).
  2. From the E-mail settings screen, select Junk E-mail Guard.
  3. Select Safe List.
  4. Enter the PrimeMarketers address (you can either enter a specific email address or use *PrimeMarketers.com or @PrimeMarketers.com to whitelist the domain) in the text box provided for Add people to safe list.
  5. Select Add.

Outlook 2003 or higher

If you are using Outlook 2003 or higher for your emails, you can whitelist by:

  1. Open the email.
  2. From the list of emails, right click on the sender’s email address.
  3. Select Add sender to Address book.
  4. Click Save and close.

For domain whitelisting,

  1. Open email.
  2. Select the drop down arrow after Contacts in the contacts section (left-hand side, below Folders).
  3. Select New Contact.
  4. In the E-mail addresses box, enter *@PrimeMarketers.com.
  5. Select Add and click OK.

Norton AntiSpam

AntiSpam works along with Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape and Yahoo, MSN/Hotmail to block spam mails before it reaches your inbox. To make sure PrimeMarketers mails reach you, you can add us to your Personal Friends list or Global Friends list. Here is how you can do that:

  1. Start Norton AntiSpam, select Status & Settings tab.
  2. Select AntiSpam.
  3. Select Configure button – right hand side bottom of the screen.
  4. Select Allowed List tab – second tab on the list of tabs.
  5. Select Add.
  6. Enter PrimeMarketers address in the Email address box.
  7. Select Ok.

McAfee Spamkiller

The McAfee Spamkiller works with Outlook, Outlook Express, Outlook 98, MSN/Hotmail to block spams. To whitelist PrimeMarketers mails,

  1. Select Friends tab.
  2. Select Email Address tab.
  3. Select the down arrow to view Personal Friends List.
  4. Select Add a Friend from the right hand side.
  5. In the address box, add the PrimeMarketers address (the specific email address), and select Single e-mail address as type, and Add.
  6. Select Domains.
  7. In the address box, enter PrimeMarketers.com, choose “all users at domain” as type and click Add.
  8. Select Save.

Spam Assassin

In Spam Assassin, you can whitelist PrimeMarketers in the User Preferences. To whitelist,

  1. Find the spamassassin folder from your hard drive, and open it.
  2. There would be a file named user_prefs. Open it with a text editor (for e.g. Notepad). If there is no such file, create it, instructions are available at http://spamassassin.taint.org/doc/Mail_SpamAssassin_Conf.html
  3. Make a new line in the file. On that line, enter whitelist_from, followed by the PrimeMarketers address that you wish to whitelist. To whitelist the domain, enter @PrimeMarketers.com.
  4. Save and close the file.
